"Things have been going well since I committed to Mississippi State," Morris told Rion Young of 247Sports. "The coaches stay in touch. Coach Turner and I talk four or five days a week. I feel they want me as part of their program. Nothing has slowed down since I committed to MSU."
Across the board, Morris fielded 28 offers, with interest from Kentucky, Colorado, Georgia Tech, and Miami among others. He visited Colorado in late July and Miami in early July. Rated as a three-star recruit, Morris carried a composite score of .8667 from 247Sports, which also lists him as the No. 47 prospect in Alabama.

As a junior, he contributed to a 9-2 campaign that included a nine-game winning streak from Week 2 through Week 10.
