New Revelations in the Negreira Case: Audio Recordings of Key Figures Surface
Recent developments in the ongoing Negreira case have stirred significant interest, especially with the release of audio recordings featuring comments from prominent figures such as Joan Laporta, Luis Enrique, and Ernesto Valverde. "I have never used these reports, nor have I requested them or shown any interest in them, not even now at Athletic Club. My assistant may receive them, but when I inquired with my assistant back at Barça, he confirmed there were none," Valverde explained.
And What About Laporta?
Turning to Laporta, the focus of his testimony revolved around the institutional aspects of the payments linked to companies connected with Negreira. He clarified that these financial transactions did not originate during his presidency but were rather inherited from earlier administrations.
"The sports department was the entity receiving these analyses. I cannot recall exactly when this practice began, but it was before my time in office, as it was passed down to us. I was informed that some advice was provided, and the decision was made to continue these payments," Laporta detailed.
He also expressed that he believed the reports were primarily generated by Negreira’s son, a claim that appears to contradict statements made by Enríquez Negreira Jr.
